The Town of Timberville hosted National Night Out at the American Legion Park on August 3rd. National Night Out is a nationwide event where local police departments and communities come together for a night of fun!

Families had the opportunity to meet and talk to the Timberville Police Officers, view their cruisers and learn about the dangers of driving under the influence. The Timberville Vol. Fire Department were also on hand to answer any questions from community members, show their fire engines, and offer rides on their fire truck.

The night also included a friendly competition between the police department and fire department. The competition consisted of a round of corn hole, Jenga, and water balloon toss. The Timberville Police Department won the Jenga game, but lost to the Timberville Vol. Fire Department in corn hole and water balloon toss; thus, the Fire department won the trophy and bragging rights for the next year!

Aside from the fire and police department booths, residents were able to enjoy food and refreshments that were prepared by the fire department, as well as get their portrait done by Caricature artist Daniel Ryman. Ashby Harpine also joined us as our face painting artist.

This event was a huge success! We'd like to thank our sponsors, Cargill, Farmers and Merchants bank, Pilgrims and Walmart for their continued support! We'd also like to thank the Volunteer Fire Department for joining us and serving food!

Photos of the event can be viewed on the Town of Timberville's Facebook page.
